Thanks for the response, Leszek ( i am the one who wrote the message about watching mms live streams in lubuntu) ! Having already installed the gecko-mediaplayer plugin, i have now resolved some of my problems by removing vlc-plugin ( i.e. mozilla-vlc plugin), which obviously caused some troubles, but still this was not the solution to the problem, at least not for me- now i can watch some of the mms live streams, but in the most of the cases the gecko plugin just crashes or, even worse, freezes the whole system. Perhaps other users didn't have similar problems? If i may repeat, the xine-plugin worked this job just fine in ubuntu. Thanks again and all the best!

I think Lubuntu has great potential to power Chromium like "fast and light" installs. May I suggest that the installer gives the user gives the option to install a minimum of kernel + core toolchain + LXDE desktop (no apps, beyond text editors and a terminal). Or even better, a Lubuntu Cloud image, or something along these lines. A much smaller iso would do. This would not be aimed at replacing the regular Lubuntu full desktop, but rather give a minimal OS + Browser install. Thanks a lot for all the great work! Keep it up! -- Leo

Thanks for the response, Leszek. For me still did not work as proposed on this topic. At least at some of the website the streaming got stuck where on other sites it works perfectly.

Anche a me con lubuntu 10.10 dopo aver installato il gecko-mediaplayer plugin, il so si blocca ripetutamente e chromium va in crach o presenta strani messaggi di errore!! Grazie mille comunque per il grande lavoro... continuate così... CIAO

I love lubuntu but it seems that the 11.10 beta version has 2 problems.Like lubuntu 11.04 its acting weird with Wine and its not compatible with the new ubuntu software center so i had to use Muon which im not crazy about.
